Leon Edward LaChapelle

Oct 28, 1940 — Jun 26, 2026

Leon (Lee) Edward LaChapelle, born October 28, 1940 went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Margarite LaChapelle. He is survived by his wife, Louise LaChapelle, his sons, Scott LaChapelle and wife Vicki, Brian LaChapelle and wife Tessa, and daughters, Dawn LaChapelle and Tara Goldman and husband Justin. He was also survived by his brothers and sister, Louie, Lenny, Lorraine, Leslie, and Larry, his grandchildren, Michael, Scott Jr., Kyle, Chase, Amber, Julia, Nicole, Jillian and great granddaughter Lily. Lee also leaves behind lots of nieces and nephews and friends.

Lee was born and raised in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. He graduated from East Providence High school and joined the Navy when he was 18. He served his country with pride as a flagman on the USS Parle. After serving his country he went to trade school and became a Master Electrician and worked in the trade for over 40 years. Lee loved race cars and over the years went to several race tracks from New England to Florida, from dirt to pavement. Every Sunday was Nascar Race Day. He was the original owner of a 1971 Ford Torino, 351-Cobra-jet that he spent a lot of his retirement years bringing to car shows, where he won several trophies and plaques that he lined his garage walls with.

Lee was a hard worker and lived a full life. He loved his family; his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his friends and his country. Lee (Dad) was the rock of the family and leaves a void nobody can fill.

Lee will be laid to rest at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to The Humane Society or St Jude's Children's Hospital.
