Robert Luke Payne

Robert “Luke” Payne, Poppa Man, will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His passing leaves a space in the hearts of his family and friends that can never truly be filled. Above all, Luke will be remembered for the love and many hours of laughter he shared with his family that created the memories we hold near to our hearts. Luke devoted his life to working hard to provide for and protect his family as a well-known local pool builder and partnered with his brother George in real estate investments.

His life was an adventure and now he is free to explore the next chapter while we are here holding his Earthly memory alive.

Luke is Preceded in death by his parents, Alan (Bud) and Loretta (Perk) Payne, older siblings, Ellis, Mary, very best friend George, and his beautiful nieces Valorie and Angel.

Survived by the love of his life, Paula Smith-Payne; his daughters, Tamara Plummer (Casey), Kyla Koci (Paul), and his son, Robert Smith (Nicole). His greatest legacy continues through his seven beloved grandchildren: Myla, Henry, Shelby, Kiara, Mason, Silas, and Ali, who will carry

his love and influence with them throughout their lives. He is also survived by many extended family members and loved ones who will forever cherish the time they shared with him.

Though words cannot fully express the sadness of his passing, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain forever. He will be missed more than words can say, remembered with love, and carried in the hearts of his family.

Rest easy, Poppa Man. You are now home and at peace.

Services will be held at Flagler Beach First United Methodist Church on November 21, 2026, at 1pm.
