Paul Pyrch

Oct 20, 1960 — Aug 10, 2026

Paul Pyrch, 65, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, in Orange City, Florida, with family by his side.

Born on October 20, 1960, in New London, Connecticut, Paul was the son of the late Margaret and William Pyrch.

Paul spent much of his career as a funeral director, a role that suited his remarkable ability to comfort others. Families often spoke of the kindness and compassion he showed them during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. He had a gift for making people feel cared for and, most importantly, less alone.

Paul loved music and drumming, Disney (especially Goofy) and being by the water. He was endlessly curious, always interested in where the fire trucks were headed or what storm might be rolling in. He loved a good adventure and passed that curiosity on to his family.

Above all, Paul will be remembered for the ways he showed up for the people he loved. He listened, understood, encouraged, and could almost always be counted on to say “yes.”

Paul is survived by his children, Matthew Pyrch and Chelsea Messer; their spouses, Geoffrey Troup and Robert Messer; his grandchildren, Finn, Noah, and Theo Messer; his dog, Maggie; his longtime caretaker and companion, Diane; and many extended family and friends.

His family finds comfort in knowing that Paul is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Margaret and William, and the beloved dogs who went before him.

Paul spent so much of his life helping others through loss. Now, those who loved him will carry forward his memory through the music, laughter, curiosity, and love he left behind.
